The Bluegrass Festival season has kicked into high gear for NFR this month.

We started May out in California, I love California!  It is so beautiful there, from the north to south, that state is awesome!  Since then, we've been in NC, OH, KY (a few times) TN and tomorrow, we head to the Show Me state of MO.  It's been a fun month seeing faces that we haven't seen for a while.  It was good to visit with The Isaacs and Blue Highway and Doyle Lawson at Doyles' festival in Denton. We got to jam after the show in Denton with Tim Stafford and Rob Ickes and that was great!  We've had some time to hang with Kenny and Amanda Smith, Kenny has some great stories and is a blast to hang out with.  We'll see them more in Branson this week, should be fun. Had a chance to hang out with Tim Surrett on Saturday in Greenup, KY.

Tim was playing with Don Rigsby, John Rigsby, Melvin Goins and a herd of others at that festival, he can always make me laugh. Our new CD is finally mastered!!!! As soon as we get a release date, we'll announce it here first!  Randy celebrated his first anniversary with the band and his birthday this past weekend. Randy Barnes is playing the coolest looking and sounding electric upright bass ever!  It's the Steinberger Randy Barnes model bass!
He has an endorsement with NS Design now, check it out at one of our shows. Jr. and Rob have been entertaining as usual, Jr. says it's not entertaining how Rob picks at him but Randy and I say otherwise.  Rob will pick and pick and pick at Jr., kind of like a little fly buzzing around Jr., Jr. will be ready to pulverize him, then a few minutes later they'll be talking golf or guitars or banjos, as if nothing happened.  It's interesting how brotherly relationships have developed in the band over time.  I guess that's all for now, if you're in or near Branson this week, come and see us at Silver Dollar City!
