We won something!  Pretty cool.  We just won the Contemporary Gospel Group of the Year award at SPBGMA in Nashville.  We played at the 32nd annual SPBGMA Awards Show and Convention on Thursday and Friday and then played up in Shipman, IL. on Sat. night.  Rob, Jr. and myself went back home to be with our families because we were ready to go home and because we didn't think we would win squat.  We were up against Blue Highway, The Churchmen, The Isaacs, The Marksmen and Mountain Heart.  So we just assumed someone else would win.  A big thanks to those of you that voted for us.  We really appreciate it!  We had a good time in Nashville.  We got to see a lot of friends at the convention.  I heard some good jamming going on throughout the lobby of the Music City Sheraton.  Saturday morning we got up and headed north to the windy and cold town of Shipman, IL.  We met Mike Harman and his family as well as several hundred other nice people at his popular bluegrass concert hall.  Mike played banjo for Alison Krauss on one of her earlier recordings, he's great and is quite a character.  His family is talented and are very hospitable hosts.  We had decided that NFR wasn't going to win anything at the awards show which were held on Sunday, but just in case, Randy Barnes was going to be there.  Well Randy's wife started feeling bad at the show and evidently our positive outlook on winning anything had rubbed off on Randy.  So he and his wife left the show leaving no one to collect our award from The Grascals, who presented that category.

Eventually, the trophy will hopefully wind up in our office.  Again, thanks to all of you that voted for us.  We DEFINITELY did not expect it!!
