Hey Everyone,
Hope all is well. The band just got back from Nashville where we played at SPBGMA on Thurs. and Fri. nights. Saw lots of familiar faces and some new ones too. We were pretty busy with meetings and stuff thru the day and then playing at night. We taped a radio show for Dave Higgs on Friday morning, it’s called Bluegrass Breakdown. We recorded it at the Nashville Public Radio studios, really cool place. They had an incredible set-up. Dave’s show is syndicated in about 32 markets I believe, so you may be able to catch it on your local public radio station.
Friday night was Bluegrass night so we featured a bunch of songs off of “Somewhere Between”. Tom T. Hall was in the crowd so I was REALLY nervous to sing one of his songs with him sitting there. He came up to us after the show and was very nice and said that we nailed it (That’s How I Got To Memphis) and that our version of Rock of Ages brought a tear to his eye. Then a guy who was playing a guitar behind us started playing, The Year That Clayton Delaney Died to which Tom T. politely turned around and said, “you’re gonna have to take that Capo off”. And so Mr. Guitar player did, and Tom T. treated us to one of his classic tunes right there near our table. Pretty cool!
This weekend we’re in Fairview, Ohio which is between Zanesville and Wheeling. If you’re near there come and see us! Saturday night finds us in Milton, WV at the Mountaineer Opry House. This is a pretty well know Bluegrass music venue and we’re glad to be playing there. Come and see us when you can.
Take Care,
Tim S.
